'Push Me Pull You', 2005, traces all the left and right pairs of the artist’s body that he can push into clay for casting in plaster. The solid pairs are themselves covered in material and joined by their reverse faces—the limits of the pour—with material piping demarcating the axis or point of symmetry. Such a reflection of the body’s symmetry is, again, reflected in the mirrored surface on which the six objects rest, a surface reminiscent of the dimensions of the prone, resting body, at once laboratory and morgue. Symmetry upon symmetry builds on the already prevalent conditions of reversal. Mirror acts as a device to reflect the body of the artist, and the viewer, in on themselves and to underline the axes of the body.
