was born in Cornwall, U.K. 1943.
Raised in the West-Country. Studied after a
fashion for nine years there, London, and the
U.S.A. He has worked around art-schools most
of his remaining life, here and there and elsewhere,
learning much more.
Lived in Sydney since 1978. Mostly.
This artist has helped build houses,
driven trucks, buses, trolley cars (in Auckland),
worked on animated films in L.A., motor-cycle
courier in London, been a member of the professoriate
at U.N.S.W., and sewn buttons on futons.
Worked on events and film, for
Yoko Ono, improvised music with AMM, London,
fabricated for Naum Gabo, U.S.A.. Spent most
of the 70¹s, after Auckland, N.Z., trying
to make art in the volatile climate of Belfast,
where he encountered Joseph B. In Sydney has
collaborated with Tony Coleing, and others on
performed and installed works.
He has worked with time-based
media, performed-gestures and actions, installed
works usually, and drawing. Writes a bit too.
This artist has shown artworks in public regularly
since 1960, inside and outside galleries, posh
and not posh, listens to music all the time,
mainly post-bebop, improvised. This artist reads
neurotically. He shares the privilege of two
cats. He likes motorcycles, saffron cake and
clotted cream.
